Workflow: a film plan vs a creator suite
OpenArt's Director, launched in June 2026, lets you "vibe direct" a video by chatting with its agent, then refine it in Scenes and Timeline views (source). Quick-starts cover short films, micro-dramas, music videos, ads, trailers and explainers.
Poiema starts from the story and keeps it as one project. Pip, the Copilot, reads your script and builds the cast, locations and props, splits the story into episodes and shots, and plans each shot's camera, lighting and action. Read more on the AI film studio.
Character consistency
OpenArt's Characters library builds a reusable character from an image, a description or its builder, and the number of characters you can keep depends on your plan (source). In Poiema, characters, outfits, locations and props live in the project's lorebook and are passed into every shot they appear in. See consistent AI characters.
Models
OpenArt lists a wide menu, including Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 and Kling 3 Omni, Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, Wan, MiniMax and Hailuo, PixVerse, Grok Imagine and Gemini Omni Flash. It marks Sora 2 as discontinued and does not list Runway (source, Sora 2). Poiema includes Veo 3.1, Kling 3, Seedance 2 and Runway Gen-4.5, chosen shot by shot.
