Workflow: a film plan vs a flexible canvas

Morphic gives you building blocks. The canvas holds your generations, Copilot runs models for you, Compose is a timeline editor, and prebuilt workflows such as "Short film creator" chain steps together (source). How a film is structured is up to you and the workflow you choose.

Poiema starts from the story. Paste a script and Pip, the Copilot, builds the cast, locations and props, splits the story into episodes and shots, and plans each shot's camera, lighting and action. Every shot lives in one project with everything the film already knows. Read more on script to video.

Character consistency

Morphic lets you save a character, style or product as a reference and call it with @Name in a prompt; paid plans hold up to 100 references (source). In Poiema, every character has reference images and named looks in the project's lorebook, and Poiema passes them into each shot the character appears in, so you don't tag them by hand. See consistent AI characters.

Models

Morphic's credit table lists one of the widest model menus available, including Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, Wan 3.0, MiniMax and Hailuo, Vidu, LTX and Gemini Omni Flash (source). Poiema includes leading models such as Veo 3.1, Kling 3, Seedance 2 and Runway Gen-4.5, and you choose the model for each shot while your cast and world travel with you.

Morphic also sells an Education plan and credit packs for paid plans, and charges Copilot replies in credits (source, credits).

Poiema starts with a $1 trial including 100 credits, then plans from $29 a month for 1,500 credits. The Studio plan ($199 a month) shares 14,000 credits between 5 creators. Every Generate button shows its credit price before anything runs. See pricing.

Where Morphic is stronger

Where Poiema is stronger

Bottom line

If your work starts with a script and needs the same characters across a whole film or series, Poiema is built for that. If you want the widest model menu, a full editor and a canvas to design your own process, Morphic is a strong choice.

Questions

Is Poiema an alternative to Morphic?

For story-led work, yes. Poiema turns a script into a cast, locations, episodes and a shot list, and keeps them consistent across a whole film or series. Morphic is a flexible canvas, Copilot and timeline where you build the process yourself or start from a workflow.

Do both have an AI Copilot?

Yes. Morphic's Copilot picks models, runs generations and edits the Compose timeline, with replies charged in credits by the language model you choose. Pip, Poiema's Copilot, plans the film itself: cast, locations, props, episodes and shots, inside one project.

Which has more models?

Morphic lists more video models, including Hailuo, Wan, Vidu, LTX and Luma Ray. Poiema includes leading models such as Veo 3.1, Kling 3, Seedance 2 and Runway Gen-4.5, chosen shot by shot. Morphic's model table does not list Runway.

Does Morphic have a free plan?

Yes. Morphic's free plan gives 20 one-time credits and adds a watermark to exports, according to its pages on 1 October 2026. Poiema has a $1 trial with 100 credits instead of a free plan.
